EC FOREST

We have our own Energy Challenges FOREST! Hey, it's really true. It has been in existence since spring 2022 and can even be visited in Hardenberg in Overijsel.

“The Energy Challenges FOREST”. We are very proud of it!

Now it is only very small, there are only 30 trees left, but the intention is that together we ensure that it will become a beautiful large forest. How can you help? By clicking on the link, choosing a tree, paying and the Treemendo Foundation will allow our forest to grow little by little in the next planting season.

We will of course keep you informed afterwards about how our forest is doing. On the special website, you can also take a digital look at the EC BOS on the interactive map.

As Energy Challenges, we are working every day to make young people more aware of their energy consumption ,and we teach them to use energy as sustainably as possible. Save as much CO2 as possible by using less gas, electricity and water.

CO2 that is released anyway, which we cannot do without energy, can also be stored in trees. In this way, we try to contribute to a better living environment.

With our 30 trees that have already been planted, we have already captured 3 tons of CO2, with which we compensate for 3 plane flights, 10 m2 of sea ice and 1333 km by car and create beautiful new nature. That's a good start, isn't it?

Will you help us plant a beautiful new forest?

Companies or organizations that want to compensate for their CO2 emissions are also very welcome. If you send us an email, we will calculate how many trees are needed as compensation ,and we will send an invoice for the purchase of those trees.

The Bird Cherry is mainly found in Northern Europe and Northern Asia.

Height & Age
This tree grows to a height of 16 meters and the oldest bird cherry is around 150 years old.

Fruits & Flowers
It is not to be missed when the Bird Cherry is in bloom. The tree in bloom transforms from green to white! The blossom has a pleasant almond scent and is hermaphroditic. This means that it has both female and male parts. The blossom appears in spring and is pollinated by bees and other insects. After pollination, red/blackish, bitter cherries grow and are eaten by mammals and birds.

Did you know
The black fruit can be used for making liqueur, but also for dyeing wool, for example. Nicely multifunctional!
